Finally finished marking the 80 doctrine 2 papers that came my way. Whew!
It was actually a really good experience (mostly), because I spent a lot of time thinking about how to do theology (and how not to do it, too...).
But also it is frustrating because of how impossible it is to do a decent job...

You know, I rather think that Doctrine exams should be multiple choice.
No, no - seriously. With a subject like Doctrine you are basically attempting to communicate a series of propositions to your students. This is ideal for a multiple choice exam.
Otherwise you partially end up marking the person on their ability to write an essay, rather than their grasp of the subject.
Imagine how much easier marking would be! You could automate it...

a. the Bible
b. God the Creator and Redeemer
c. doctrine
d. cricket
Q. Knowledge of God the creator is
a. found in philosophical speculation
b. found in the bible only
c. naturally planted within us
d. available only through theological college

c. really cool
Q. The Godhead is
a. one essence and three persons
b. one person and three essences
c. one substance and three identities
d. huh?
I reckon it would be a hit...
