Andrew Cameron on the good life

H/T to Rory for this one:

"…Christian Ethics is best understood as a response to the way God's kindness bubbles over into every area of life. As such it is simply an extension of the gospel. Christians may therefore talk about life, and then even live it, in such a mesmerizingly beautiful way that those who see and hear cannot help but want to know more of Christ. It is in this sense that Christians are in the business of saying “Yes” to the world."Andrew Cameron, "How to Say YES to the World—Evangelical Social Ethics", RTR, 66:1 (April 2007), 24.

This kind of fits well with the whole David Bentley Hart thesis too...

When is the RTR going to go online?

Have you asked them?

Considering that when I started subscribing 2 years ago they didn't even have an email address (I had to find a thing called an envelope and put what the ancients refer to as a "stamp" on it!), I'm guessing online is no time soon!

Yes: my two cents is that, if the RTR is to make ANY IMPACT AT ALL, it needs to be online AS A MATTER OF URGENCY, and of CAPITAL LETTERS.

The research culture is now such that if I can't access it from my desk, I probably won't read it.

A small antipodean journal like RTR is unlikely to get many sales, but it ought to be available to evangelical colleges AT LEAST if we are serious about it.

Wycliffe doesn't have a subscription. How come? How could this be possibly the case - RTR is completely unavailable in Oxford.

What is this "Reformed Theological Review" that you speak of?

I have ensured that all periodicals of any material value are available at Wycliffe.

If you are unable to find something, do not trouble yourself about it. Rest assured, I have formed the view that it is not of any material value....
